1st for Women - Louise Carver’s biggest fan!

1st for Women loves empowered and dynamic women! We’re even crazier about women who embark on outstanding and remarkable feats, women who beat the odds and emerge triumphant.

That’s why we decided to sponsor the lovely Louise Carver and her 2008, much-acclaimed, nationwide ‘Home Tour’.

‘The Home Tour’ featured acoustic performances of not only Louise’s best and most recognised work, but also legendary South African hits from the past.

Her sincere and beautiful performance was recorded on 29 October 2008 by Sony Music, Louise’s record label. The recording emphasises her musical quality and relevance, the energetic atmosphere of this sold out show as well as Louise’s inspired vocals, significant body of work, strong love for her country and respect for her fellow musicians.

Performances on the album include all of Louise’s major hits, ‘Home’, ‘Empty Fantasy’, ‘It Don’t Matter’, ‘Impossible Love’, ‘The Only Thing’, ‘Didn’t Mean To Call’ and ‘Harder Than I Thought’, as well as additional and inspiring works from her three previous album releases.

‘The Home Tour – Live’ also contains an exclusive new remix of ‘Time is a Healer’ by renowned local DJ Justin Vee, included as a bonus track. This brand new radio single is getting significant airplay on contemporary radio across South Africa.

Other performances resonating on ‘The Home Tour - Live’ album includes unique new versions of Johnny Clegg’s ‘Spirit of the Great Heart’, Brenda Fassie’s ‘Too Late for Mama’, Bright Blue’s ‘Weeping’, Mango Groove’s ‘Moments Away’ and Eddy Grant’s ‘Give Me Hope Joanna’.

To launch ‘The Home Tour – Live’, Louise will showcased the second leg of ‘The Home Tour’ across South Africa in May 2009.

And of course, 1st for Women was there to support her on her tour!

Louise said that she is very excited to be revisit ‘The Home Tour’ as it is a wonderfully inspirational experience for a lot of South Africans.

“If the audience leaves refreshed by my music and happy and proud to be South African, I feel my work has been successful,” says Louise.

According to Robyn Farrell, managing director of 1st for Women: “We are so proud to support this truly remarkable and proudly South African songstress. Louise is an inspiration to us, as well as to many South Africans out there.”

‘The Home Tour - Live’ CD album was officially released to all good music retail outlets on 20 April 2009.
